The Human Growth Foundation Announces its 2009 Small Grants Program for Investigation of human growth and its disorders.
Special consideration will be given to new investigators and iideas new to the
field. Postdoctoral research dealing with all aspects of normal and abnormal growth in the areas of biological, psychological, educational and dietary will be considered. A grant may be awarded in the amount of $10,000 to $15, 000.
An NIH type biographical sketch and two-page* LETTER OF INTENT (LOI) should be sent to HGF at address below by MAY 15, 2009. All letters received by HGF will be submitted to the HGF Research Committee, members of which consist of scientists and physicians. The topics most relevant to HGF interests will be selected. The applicants selected will be notified by mail by JUNE 30, 2009, at which time HGF will request submission of a FULL GRANT APPLICATION in NIH FORMATt. Although the use of the NIH form is not necessary, it is recommended that the applicant use the NIH form as a guideline. The submission of the Full Grant Application will be due at the HGF national office no later than SEPTEMBER 1, 2009.
Notice of awards will be sent on or near NOVEMBER 15, 2009.

Qualifying Factors
POSTDOCTORAL Research Only:
- HGF will only consider topics relevant to human GROWTH and DEVELOPMENT, including but not limited to areas of biology, psychosocial, and nutrition, with special consideration given for the chondrodystrophies.
- Amounts awarded will be $10,000 to $15,000 each.
- The grants are never distributed before the end of the year.
- No part of the grant shall be used toward administrative overhead.
- HGF requires a synopsis of the research to be submitted in the following year.
